Lil Kim To Be Honored at Hip Hop Honors

Lil Kim has joined the growing list of honorees for VH1’s 2016 Hip Hop Honors and she’s absolutely thrilled.

In a post on her Instagram page, the Queen Bee wrote, “I’m so humbled to be a recipient of this years @vh1 #HipHopHonors Award ?? My fans are truly amazing and the best is yet to come! #LilKimSeason #Beehive #GodisGood”

Via VH1:

Lil’ Kim is a Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum rapper, singer, actress and fashion icon. Her debut studio album Hard Core went double platinum and spawned three consecutive number 1 rap hits – a record for a female rapper. She is one of the only female rappers to have released at least three consecutive platinum albums, and she just released the acclaimed mixtape #LILKIMSEASON and will be seen across the country this summer as part of the Bad Boy Reunion Tour.

After a six-year hiatus, the live event will pay homage to the female pioneers, trailblazers and trend-setters who led a movement and infiltrated the ranks of the male-dominated genre to make their voices heard and still do today.

Other honorees include Queen Latifah, Missy Elliott, Salt-N-Pepa and DJ Spinderella.

Somebody better get on the good foot and add MC Lyte cause my patience is getting paper thin.

Hip Hop Honors will air live on July 11 at 9/8c on VH1.
