Lena Waithe Makes History At Primetime Emmys

Lena Waithe made history on Sunday night by being the first black woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series for Netflix’s “Master of None.”

During her incredible acceptance speech, Lena addressed the LGBT community and encouraged them to embrace their super power.

The things that make us different, those are our super powers. Every day when you walk out the door, put on your imaginary cape and go out there and conquer the world.

Because the world would not be as beautiful as it is if we weren’t in it.

See the clip below.

Congratulations to Lena Waithe on her well-deserved honor!
