Latto vs Nicki Minaj

The streets of Twitter were running amok in Momma Dee‘s palace after Latto stood 10 toes down and called out Nicki Minaj for “bullying” her.

The kerfuffle began when Nicki Minaj addressed the Grammys for booting “Super Freaky Girl” out of the rap categories and placing the song in the Pop categories.

Nicki Minaj Calls Out Latto’s ‘Big Energy’

She went on to compare “Super Freaky Girl” to Latto’s hit single, “Big Energy,” which features a very notable sample from Mariah Carey’s 1995 Pop smash, “Fantasy.”

“Let’s just say ‘Super Freaky Girl’ is a pop song. What is ‘Big Energy?’ If ‘Super Freaky Girl’ is a Pop song. What song is ‘Big Energy?’ What genre is ‘Big Energy?’”

Nicki Minaj declared, “They stay moving the goalpost when it comes to me.”

“Because in order for them to uplift the people who they want to shine, the people who these corporate giants can make the money off of, the people who control a lot of things behind the scenes…they have to elevate someone that they profit off. So, they must move the goalpost for me all the time.”

After Nicki dragged Latto into it by bringing attention to “Big Energy,” the 23-year-old raptress, who had just received three American Music Award nominations was now the topic of discussion.

Latto appeared to be disappointed by the turn of events and took to Twitter writing, “Damn I can’t win for losing… all these awards/noms I can’t even celebrate.”

Latto Reacts

After seeing Nicki Minaj’s tweet, Latto reached out to her privately to ask that her name and song be left out of Nicki’s argument with the Grammys because of their past issues.

Nicki posted Latto’s private message and blasted her by calling her a “Karen” and a “scratch off.”

This Karen has probably mentioned my name in over 100 interviews.

Says she waited in line for Pink Friday w/her Barbie chain on, bangs, pink hair…but today, scratch off decides to be silent; rather than speak up for the black woman she called her biggest inspiration.

Nicki Minaj Blasts Latto

The above tweet appears to be the straw that broke the camel’s back and Latto let all of her “Big Energy” loose in the streets of Twitter.

The raptress revealed (for those of us who weren’t paying attention) that Nicki Minaj has been subtweeting her and throwing shots at her for a while.

She pulled receipts of Nicki “bullying” her in the form of tweets, DMs, and audio from a telephone convo they had when Latto attempted to smooth things over with the Queen of the Barbz.

Nicki Minaj has since deleted her tweets aimed at Latto but you can see two of her responses below.

Following their font fight in the streets of Twitter, #40YearOldBully is now trending as people react to the latest drama involving Nicki Minaj.

One person tweeted, “It’s ridiculous. Let the girls enjoy the fame and recognition you enjoyed years ago. At the top by yourself. You paved the way for these girls and instead of sitting on your throne proud of what you’ve done, you’re burning your legacy to the ground. #40yearoldbully

Another person wrote, “All I’m saying is we’ve never seen Beyoncé or Rihanna talk down to the new R&B or Pop girls the way Nicki talks down to the new rap girls. Everyone isn’t required to kiss your ass girl ? #40yearoldbully”
