Kerry Washington On Keeping Her Marriage & Pics Of Her Daughter Private

While it’s always interesting to get a peek inside the lives of your favorite celebrities…I totally respect the ones who draw the line in the sand when it comes to their privacy.

Kerry Washington is a shining example of keeping her private life – private! You have a better chance of putting finger waves in Donald Trump’s toupee than getting Kerry to spill tea about her marriage.

The “Scandal” star quietly tied the knot with former NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha in 2013. We didn’t find out about it until a month or two later and the only reason why we knew she was expecting was because she opted not to go into seclusion for nine months.

At the Film + Interactive Festival at SXSW, Kerry reaffirmed she will never discuss her private life or address those pesky divorce rumors that surface at least once or twice a year.

If I don’t talk about my personal life, it means I don’t talk about my personal life.

That means not only did I not tell you when I was getting married, it also means if somebody has rumors about what’s going on in my marriage, I don’t refute them, because I don’t talk about my personal life.

Kerry Washington did admit when it comes to her daughter, Isabelle Amarachi, she has to fight the urge to share her super cute photos on social media. To satisfy the urge, she sends the pics to her therapist or her mom.

I have these itchy fingers where I want to post a photo of my daughter, so instead I send it to my shrink or my mother. I’m like, ‘Look at this picture! Look how cute!’ Get it out of my phone into the world, but not on social.

I want her to be able to make those decisions in her time. She already has a lot to navigate in life as the daughter of an actor and a former football player. She should be able to enter this world when it feels right for her, and not [have me] make that decision for her. Who knows what the next generation of Snapchat will be when she’s allowed to have a phone.

You can’t be mad at that.
