R&B soul singer Kelly Price has joined the cast of BET’s “American Soul” as a series regular.
The 10-episode drama series is inspired by the “personal trials and professional successes of the young, ambitious and troubled impresario Don Cornelius.
Kelly will play the role of Brianne Clarke, the wise yet cautious” matriarch of the Clarke family.
Brianne’s children, Simone and Kendall, are rising stars in Los Angeles.
In a post on her Instagram page, Kelly Price shared her excitement about her new role writing:

I’m overwhelmed and overjoyed and beyond grateful to be in the company of such incredible creatives!! God is SOOO GOOD TO ME!!!!!!
“Power” alum Sinqua Walls is set to star as a young Don in the series, which is slated to arrive sometime next year.
Kelly Rowland will also guest star on “American Soul” as Gladys Knight.
