Chrisley Knows Best stars Todd Chrisley & Julie Chrisley Found Guilty Of Bank Fraud & Tax Evasion

Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley are going from a huge home to “the big house” for bank fraud and tax evasion.

Federal prosecutors said the Chrisleys deliberately “swindled” at least $30 million from community banks from 2007 to 2012 by inflating their net worth to obtain loans.

They are accused of purposely targeting smaller banks that did less due diligence than larger ones.

Then, Todd Chrisley filed for bankruptcy in 2012, erasing $20 million in loan debt.

The couple is also accused of hiding millions in earnings made from “Chrisley Knows Best” and they evaded taxes dating back to 2009.

Prosecuting attorney Annalise Peters also alleges Julie Chrisley launched 7C’s Productions solely in her name so that the IRS couldn’t touch the income to recover the $500,000 in taxes Todd owed from 2009.

The Chrisleys were living in Atlanta when most of their fraud and tax evasion shenanigans went down.

They relocated to Nashville in 2016.

Judge Eleanor L. Ross threw the book at the  “Chrisley Knows Best” stars by sentencing Todd Chrisley to 12 years in prison with three years of supervised release.

She also sentenced Julie Chrisley to seven years in prison with three years of supervised release.

The couple’s accountant Peter Tarantino was sentenced to three years in prison and three years of supervised release.

In a short statement to CNN in June, one of Todd Chrisley’s attorneys, Bruce Morris, said they were, “disappointed in the verdict” and planned to appeal.

The Chrisley family is in the trenches right now.

Over the weekend, their 16-year-old son, Grayson Chrisley, was hospitalized after a car accident in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, Grayson drove into the back of a stopped vehicle.

Following the accident, Grayson was unable to recall anything from the accident, possibly due to a head injury.

The reality TV star was transported to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Todd spoke about the accident on his “Chrisley Confessions” podcast.

“Grayson was in a horrific car accident on the interstate and we got the phone call that we had to get to him. I ran out of the house, you know, jumped in the car and found him on the interstate.”

“The highway patrol was there. Traffic was lined up for miles and miles. His car was totaled.”

“I remember looking at Grayson on that stretcher in the back of that ambulance and him crying and the police stopping to talk to me before they took me to him and all I could think of was thank you God because he is alive and crying,” he recalled.

“Then, they said you want to ride with him to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and I said, ‘I’m not going anywhere. I’ll be with him until he comes home with me,'” he continued. “So, I remember holding his hand and saying, ‘It’s ok. It’s gonna be ok.'”

When it rains…it pours.

I seriously doubt Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley will have to serve their full sentences.
