Judge Joe Brown begins 5-day jail sentence.
The former TV judge turned himself in to the Shelby County Corrections Center to serve his 5-day jail sentence for contempt of court.
Joe Brown was charged with contempt in March 2014 when he lashed out at a magistrate during a custody hearing in juvenile court.
Brown filed an appeal, but it was denied. He turned himself in around noon on Thursday.
Joe Brown was booked and placed in a cell alone in a protected area from other inmates.
