Welp. Manny Pacquiao isn’t the only one coming out of the “Fight of the Century” with a lawsuit on his back.
Josie Harris, the mother of Floyd Mayweather‘s three children, has slapped the boxer with a $20 million lawsuit for saying she was “high on drugs” the night he attacked her in her home in front of their children.
You may recall, in December of 2011, the boxing champ pleaded no contest to two harassment charges and guilty to a reduced domestic battery charges stemming from a September 2010 incident, where Floyd Mayweather entered Josie’s home as she slept on the couch. He yanked her to the floor by her hair, then punched and kicked and screamed profanities at her in front of their children. There oldest son, Koraun, slipped out of the house and asked a security guard to call the police.
Floyd was sentenced to 90 days in jail and only served two-months after being released early for good behavior.
Leading up to his big bout with Pacquiao, Floyd sat down with Katie Couric for an exclusive interview, where she asked him about the night he attacked Josie.
Mayweather didn’t stutter as he explained he was only trying to restrain “a woman who was high on drugs.”
Josie Harris is outraged that Floyd would tell a bold-faced “lie” on national television and she wants her children’s father to pay for ruining her reputation, embarrassing her, and humiliating her on a global scale.
In the lawsuit, Dan Friedlander, Josie’s attorney, stated Floyd’s lies to Couric “were knowingly fabricated in order to hype Mayweather’s upcoming fight with Pacquiao, to avoid bad press by deflecting responsibility for beating the mother of his children.”
On Tuesday, Josie Harris posted this on her Instagram page:
People push you to your limits but when you finally explode and fight back they want to call you out your name. Thou shall not take no shit. What you allow is what will continue. Strong people don’t “shut up and deal”. They draw a line and don’t let people walk on them. They take action to change their situation.
I just have one question: If Josie Harris was “high on drugs” the night Floyd Mayweather was trying to “restrain” her, why hasn’t he ever tried to get full custody of his children and/or tried to get Josie help for her addiction?
A lie don’t care who tell it.
