We are now learning John Singleton‘s stroke was much more serious than we initially thought.
The legendary director and producer suffered a major stroke on April 17 and is currently in a coma.
Upon return from his trip to Costa Rica, John went to the hospital after experiencing weakness in his leg. He was already at the hospital when the stroke occurred.
John Singleton’s family released a statement confirming the stroke, but they didn’t indicate how serious it was.
On Wednesday, April 17, our beloved son/father, John Singleton, suffered a stroke while at the hospital.
John is currently in the ICU and under great medical care.
We ask that privacy be given to him and our family at this time and we appreciate all of the prayers that have been pouring in from his fans, friends, and colleagues.
Thank you,
The Singleton Family
The 51-year-old Oscar-nominated director’s condition was revealed when his mother, Shelia Ward, filed court papers to be appointed as his temporary conservator to make medical and financial decisions on his behalf.
Please join me in sending up prayers for John to make a full and speedy recovery.
