JJ Watt and family - Arizona Cardinals DE announces retirement from NFL
Twitter

JJ Watt took to the streets of Twitter on Tuesday (December 27) and announced his retirement from the NFL

The 33-year-old Arizona Cardinals defensive end shared beautiful photos of himself and his family with the caption:

Koa’s first ever NFL game.

My last ever NFL home game.

My heart is filled with nothing but love and gratitude. It’s been an absolute honor and a pleasure.

🙏🏼

See JJ’s original tweet and the photos below.

JJ Watt is an accomplished NFL player, who has received awards such as All-Pro, Pro Bowl, Defensive Player of the Year, and Walter Payton Man of the Year during his time in the NFL.

For me, it’s JJ’s heart of gold off of the field that made me a fan.

In 2021, JJ honored the people of the Waukesha parade tragedy in Wisconsin by covering the funeral costs for all six victims.

Earlier this year, JJ Watt stepped in and covered the funeral expenses of a fan who was trying to sell her memorabilia to cover the costs.

The NFL baller saw the tweet and responded, “Don’t sell your shoes and jersey, we’ll help with the funeral. I’m sorry for your loss. 🙏🏼”

JJ Watt still has two games left to play before his retirement becomes official.

Journalist Sig Christenson had the best response, to JJ’s retirement post.

He wrote, “First, I’m sorry to see this day. Second, thank you not only for all the great football but also for your support of people in Houston through those many years. You represented all of us so well and will not be forgotten.”

I wish JJ and his family the very best in all of his future endeavors.
