In the third quarter of the Bears and Saints game on Sunday, Bears wide receiver Javon Wims hit Saints defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson with a two-piece and some sides after Wims claimed Gardner-Johnson spit on him and ripped his mouthpiece out.

In the video, the attack seemed unprovoked, but today, it is being reported that Wims claims he was spat on.
If that is the truth then Gardner-Johnson got exactly what he deserved. Spitting on someone is definitely on the “open up a can” list.
Bears coach Matt Nagy does not agree with my opinion.
“It was completely senseless; it was stupid; it was selfish. Every word you could possibly think of with what he did. It’s unacceptable… That’s not good for this game. That’s not good for kids that watch the sport of football. We’re not going to deal with that. … That’s not how we do things here. There will be consequences.”
The Bears received a 15-yard penalty after Wims ejection, and they loss the game in overtime 26-23.
Wims maybe on the chopping block because his production on the field has not been that great this season. He has only 5 catches for 35 yards so far.
Wims was the seventh pick of the 2018 draft, and last year despite a few highlights here and there he finished with 18 catches for 186 yards. He has only 2 career touchdowns in 28 games.
If he is let go at least he can say he went out with a BANG!
