Janelle Monáe has joined the cast of the Gloria Steinem biopic, The Gloria: A Life on the Road.

Julianne Moore and Alicia Vikander are set to star as Gloria at various points throughout her career as an activist and journalist crusading for women’s rights.

Janelle will be playing Dorothy Pitman Hughes, the women’s and civil rights activist that co-founded Ms. Magazine with Steinem.

I’m so excited and happy for Janelle Monáe! She is truly killing it in film and music.

Her new album, Dirty Computer, scooped two Grammy nominations and she will also star in Welcome to Marwen, which hits theaters on December 21.
