Jamie Foxx and his producing partner Datari Turner have signed an overall deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Under their new deal, the Oscar-winning actor and actor-turned-producer will develop and produce feature films.

Sanford Panitch, president of the Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group, said in a statement:

Jamie is wildly creative, funny and brilliant, he walks the walk, he talks the talk and we are so proud to be in this partnership with Jamie and Datari. We already have a few projects secretly going and this is only the beginning.

Jamie Foxx and Datari Turner’s first project under their new deal is an untitled action thriller, written by Juel Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier, with Jamie in the lead role.

Mr. Foxx stays on his grind.

He currently has “Project Power” on Netflix, his comedy series, “Dad Stop Embarrassing Me,” is in the works at Netflix, Disney/Pixar’s Soul is on the way, and he is producing and starring in the forthcoming film, They Cloned Tyrone.

Datari Turner has been doing his thing as well. He produced the Netflix film, Uncorked, and he produced the Sundance Award-winning film, Nine Days, starring Winston Duke and Zazie Beetz, which was picked up by Sony Pictures Classics.

Congrats to these two kings!
