All of those months of training paid off as Idris Elba won his very first kickboxing match over the weekend!
The award-winning actor revealed, “It has been a lifelong ambition of mine to fight professionally. Entering the ring to further test myself as a human being is a challenge I have been looking to take on for quite some time.”
Idris saw his dream fulfilled on Saturday when he stepped in the ring at London’s York Hall and won his first bout.
Madonna was in the building and captured this video of the fight.
Idris’s journey to becoming a professional kickboxer will be documented in “Idris Elba: Fight,” a new series on Discovery Networks International.
