Whitney Houston’s Awards, Costumes, & Memorabilia To Be Auctioned

The Houston estate is planning to auction off Whitney Houston‘s awards, costumes, and memorabilia later this month.

The two-day auction will go down in California on June 24-25 in Beverly Hills. According to Heritage Auction, they’re expecting to make big bank ($10,000) on the legendary singer’s Emmy Award for her performance at the 28th Annual Grammy Awards. They are also hoping to make $1,000 for her personal script for the 1995 film, Waiting to Exhale.

Over 100 pieces of memorabilia will be auctioned off.

Pat Houston, Nippy’s sister-in-law and the President of the Whitney Houston Estate, issued a statement explaining the reason for the auction.

We felt that it was time to give something of Whitney to the people who loved her and her music and, conversely, who Whitney loved back with all of her heart and soul.

I don’t like the idea of Whitney’s belongings being auctioned off.
