Gucci Mane has channeled his grief for the loss of Takeoff into art with his new video, “Letter To Takeoff.”

In the video, Gucci says he knew Takeoff was special the first time he met him at his studio over ten years ago.

Takeoff, you will forever be in my heart.

It’s been over ten years since I met you at my studio.

I knew immediately you would be a star.

At the beginning of the song, Gucci expressed his disbelief that Takeoff is no longer here.

Just left another funeral, I shed a tear.

I’m still in disbelief, I can’t believe it’s real.

I think about the memories, it give me chills.

I’m wondering why they left the fake and took the real.

Like, how the f*** we gon lose Takeoff?

Damn, he didn’t deserve it.

We don’t supposed to question God, but, damn, Takeoff was perfect.

I go from sad to mad, I’ve been through every stage of grief.

We need some time to heal, but my job got no work relief.

Gucci also mentioned other rappers whom we’ve lost over the years including, Shawty Lo, PnB Rock, XXXTentacion, and Young Dolph,
