Gucci Mane is outchea in these streets winning.
The rapper, born Radric Davis, has inked a deal with Simon & Schuster to release a memoir.
Like Lil Wayne, Gucci wrote his book while serving almost three years behind bars on drug and gun charges.
In a recent interview, La Flare shared:
I just did a book deal with Simon & Schuster. It should be coming out top of next year. I did a whole autobiography.
I wrote it while I was locked up. I just got a pub deal for it…not even a week ago. I’m a comeback story.
He’s a comeback story indeed and Simon & Schuster is excited about giving him the opportunity to share his life story in a memoir.
In a statement to Hip Hop Wired, a representative for the company, said:
Gucci Mane is one of the most influential and revered hip hop artists in the world.
His impact on American music is profound. This will be a major memoir revealing the life and times of the artist and man, chronicling his youth, ascent to the top of the Atlanta trap scene, incarceration, struggles with addiction and personal rebirth.
A release date for Gucci Mane’s memoir hasn’t been announced, but we do know he’s releasing his new album, Woptober, on October 17.
Congratulations to Gucci!
