Google Celebrates Hip Hop’s 44th Birthday
Throw ya hands in the air and wave them like you just don’t care!
Today marks Hip Hop’s 44th birthday and Google joined the celebration with a graffiti doodle with a turntable in the middle.
When you click the record, you are given a fantastic animated history lesson on the birth of Hip Hop.
An animated Fab Five Freddy says, “On August 11, 1973, a DJ named Kook Herc threw a Back to School party in the Boogie Down Bronx that changed music as we know it.”
Nas joined in on the celebration by praising Kool Herc for endorsing Steve Stout and Google’s efforts to make Hip Hop’s birthday a global celebration!
