Augusta Uwamanzu-Nna Accepted To All 8 Ivy Leagues Colleges

Oh, how I love stories like this!

Augusta Uwamanzu-Nna, valedictorian of Elmont High School in Long Island, New York, has been accepted to ALL eight Ivy League colleges!

Here’s the scoop via People:

The daughter of Nigerian immigrants, Uwamanzu-Nna already has an impressive CV: She was an Intel finalist for research on cement that could keep underwater oil rigs from breaking apart. This week, she received an invite to the White House Science Fair, and her GPA is a staggering 101.6.

She’s also got perspective on her experience: “Though I was born here in American, I visited Nigeria many times,” she told Long Island ABC affiliate WABC7. “And I’ve seen that my cousins don’t have the same opportunities that I have. So definitely, whatever I do, I want to make sure that it has an impact on Nigeria.”

“I’ve struggled with numerous classes in the past,” she added. “But I guess what allowed me to be successful, ultimately, in those classes, at the end, is my persistence and my tenacity.”

You go girl! The sky is the limit for this beautiful young lady!

Congratulations Augusta!
