A Georgia mom publicly praised her children before she killed them, then herself according to authorities.
58-year-old Marsha Edwards shot and killed her 20-year-old daughter, Erin Edwards, and her 24-year-old son, Christopher Edwards, at a home in Cobb County townhome before she turned the gun on herself.
Police discovered all three bodies on Wednesday while conducting a welfare check.
The day before, Marsha took to social media and gushed about visiting Chris in Miami and traveling to Italy with Erin.
In the post, Marsha wrote, “I could not ask for better children.”
Erin interned on the web desk of NBC 4 New York this summer and Christopher worked as a digital content manager for the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Film and Entertainment.
Marsha Edwards is the ex-wife of prominent Atlanta surgeon and civic leader, Dr. Christopher Edwards.
A spokesperson for Dr. Edwards released the following statement, “Dr. Edwards, his extended family and friends are in a state of grief and shock, and privacy of the family is paramount as arrangements are being made.”
Police have not released a motive for the killing.
My sincerest condolences and prayers to the Edwards family.
