Brandon Roy Shot While Shielding Kid From Gunfire
Former NBA all-star Brandon Roy was shot in the leg on Saturday (April 29) while shielding children from gunfire.
Brandon was on the porch of his grandmother’s house in California when two people opened fired.

Two people opened fire, Garrido said, and Roy was one of four people who suffered non-life threatening upper body wounds. They were transported to a local hospital and released.
Authorities were unsure of a motive at this point, but a detective unit was conducting an investigation.
USA TODAY Sports reported that Roy was shot in the leg near his grandmother’s house, a person with knowledge of the situation said.
The person requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation.
Roy was shielding some of the young people who were there, the person said.
Roy was treated in Southern California, but has already returned to Washington state while he recovers, according to King5 TV in Seattle. The incident happened over the weekend according to the outlet.
