Former Hi-Five singer Russell Neal is now in Rusk State Hospital, a mental institution, after claiming insanity in his wife’s murder.
Neal beat and stabbed Catherine Martinez to death on June 28, 2014, in their home with their two small sons present.
On July 1, he walked into a police station and informed them he had a fight with his wife. He told them she may need medical attention. When the police arrived at the home, the scene was described as “nightmarish.”
The former boy band singer is now “playing crazy.” It appears to be working as he has been found incompetent to stand trial and is now claiming his name is “Jesus Christ.”
But, prosecutors aren’t buying the BS and they refuse to drop the charges.
Russell Neal was ordered to continue treatment and has another competency hearing in August 2017.
