Former First Lady Barbara Bush passed away on Tuesday after battling congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She was 92.
On Sunday, George H. W. Bush’s office released a statement saying Barbara had decided to forgo further medical treatment, but she would focus on comfort care.

In a statement released shortly after Barbara Bush’s death, her son George eloquently recalled a mother “who kept us on our toes and kept us laughing until the end.”
“I’m a lucky man that Barbara Bush was my mother,” the former President said.
Our family will miss her dearly, and we thank you all for your prayers and good wishes.”
