Marque “Tate” Lynche Found Dead

Former Mouseketeer and “American Idol” contestant Marque “Tate” Lynche died on Sunday in his New York apartment under suspicious circumstances. He was 34-years-young.

Tate was discovered by his roommate and authorities say there are no signs of trauma, but his cause of death is still being investigated.

Born Marque Syl Lynche in St. Petersburg, Florida, he appeared on the “All New Mickey Mouse Club” from 1993 to 1995, after which he played Simba in the Broadway production of The Lion King and later Tyrone in a stage production of Fame.

In the third season of American Idol, he was a semi-finalist before being eliminated prior to the selection of the top 12 contestants.

He left entertainment after that to deal with his mother’s death and to focus on other personal matters. However, as recently as last year had begun recording and self-releasing music again, as well as performing in church.

Our condolences to the Lynche family.
