A Florida man will spend the next 20 years of his life in state prison for stealing 10 cartons of cigarettes.
48-year-old Robert Spellman was convicted of burglary and grand theft in August after he stole $600 worth of cigarettes out of a store manager’s stock room at a Circle K.
It may seem like the sentence is excessive for the crime committed, however, Mr. Spellman already had 14 felony and 31 misdemeanor convictions on his record making him a habitual felony offender.
Damn.
