The family of Jacob Blake says he has been handcuffed to his hospital bed.

Blake, 29, was shot in the back 7 times at point-blank range on Sunday by Kenosha police as he tried to enter his vehicle.

Jacob Blake is paralyzed from the waist down from the injuries he sustained in the shooting and a family member recently revealed he has been handcuffed to his hospital bed.

This is an insult to injury,” Justin Blake, the uncle of the victim, said. “He is paralyzed and can’t walk and they have him cuffed to the bed. Why?”

Why would a paralyzed man who just underwent surgery on his back would need to be handcuffed to his bed?

The Wisconsin Department of Justice identified the officer who shot Jacob as Rusten Sheskey. No charges have been filed against Sheskey at this time, but all of the officers involved in the shooting have been suspended.

The shooting is now under a federal civil rights investigation.
