Multiple family members are reportedly petitioning to become the administrator of DMX‘s estate.

The legendary Hip Hop star, real name Earl Simmons, did not have a will when he died on April 9, 2021.

An estate must be set up to manage larger expected future earnings from DMX’s music catalog.

In order to do that, the court must appoint an administrator.

DMX has 14 children, but according to New York law, only the descendants over 18 can be appointed administrators.

DMX’s fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom recently petitioned the court to be legally declared his “common-law wife.”

If approved, Desiree, who has been engaged to DMX since 2019 and is the mother of his 5-year-old son, Exodus Simmons, would have immediately seniority over all of his 14 children to potentially control his estate, as well as all future earnings from his music.

Judge Helen Blackwood ruled that Lindstrom did “not have standing to file,” as a common-law wife.

Xavier Simmons, 28, Tacoma Simmons, 21, and Sean Simmons, 19 – DMX’s adult sons from his marriage to Tashera Simmons – are petitioning to be administrators.

His adult daughters, Sasha Simmons and Jada Oden, are also filing to be administrators.

The next court date is set for July 15, where the judge will review the submissions from DMX’s children to appoint the administrators.

I pray everything goes smoothly and in the best interest of all of his children.
