I am heartbroken to report Ezra Blount, the precious 9-year-old boy who was trampled at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival, died on Sunday (November 14).

Ezra attended the festival in Houston, Texas, on November 5, with his father, Treston Blount

The young child had been sitting on his dad’s shoulders at the festival when Travis took the stage and the crowd surged forward forcing bodies together.

Both Ezra and his father were suffocating in the chaos.

I’m yelling out, ‘I can’t breathe!’ There’s other people around me saying they can’t breathe. It was definitely a moment where I didn’t know what to do.

Treston lost consciousness. When he came to he couldn’t find Ezra, who had been trampled under the feet of the crowd.

After rushing to medical tents and local hospitals searching for Ezra, Treston filed a police report and later received a photo of his son.

Just to see him in that condition. I just wasn’t ready for that.

Ezra Blount was on life support.

His internal organs had been severely damaged and his brain was swollen.

The family’s attorney Benjamin Crump released the following statement regarding Ezra’s death:

The Blount family tonight is grieving the incomprehensible loss of their precious young son.

This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert, what should have been a joyful celebration. Ezra’s death is absolutely heartbreaking.

We are committed to seeking answers and justice for the Blount family. But tonight we stand in solidarity with the family, in grief, and in prayer.

Crump has filed civil lawsuits on behalf of the Blount and 100 other families as a result of the Astroworld Festival.

Ezra is the 10th person to pass away in the Astroworld tragedy.

My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with the Blount family during this difficult time.
