The rapper-turned-talk show host sounded off on the sunken place rapper on a recent episode of “The Talk” where she said:
I don’t understand how a black man from the Southside of Chicago could have these ideas.
I just found out…a friend of mine told me that his mother, may she rest in peace, was an African-American studies professor.
I cannot understand this.
Eve went on to address Kanye’s “free-thinking” and his numbing remarks about slavery being a choice.
You want to be a free-thinker, you want to be thought-provoking, you cannot have these ideas without facts to back them up.
Slavery is a fact. Slavery is part of our history… we cannot forget it… we are still feeling the effects of slavery within our community, within our culture.
It hurts me.
Eve ended her sound-off by encouraging young men to listen to Nas, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole as an alternative to Kanye.
