Sage Steele is the gift that keeps on giving at ESPN…and by “gift” I mean that brick of fruit cake people pass around at Christmas that you immediately throw in the trash.

Not only has the “Sportscenter” anchor tested positive for COVID-19, she has also been pulled off air by ESPN following some wild remarks she made during her recent appearance on Jay Cutler‘s “Uncut” podcast.

Let’s start with my forever POTUS Barack Obama

While discussing her desire to check both Black and White on her census, when someone told Sage that Obama chose Black on his census, she said:

I’m like, ‘Well, congratulations to the president. That’s his thing.’ I think that’s fascinating considering his Black dad was nowhere to be found, but his White mom and grandma raised him, but hey, you do you. I’m going to do me.

She also said some female journalists leave the door open for harassment due to their wardrobe choices.

When you dress like that, I’m not saying you deserve the gross comments, but you know what you’re doing when you’re putting that outfit on, too. Like, women are smart, so don’t play coy and put it all on the guys.

Sage Steele also called Disney’s mandatory vaccination mandate that forced her to get vaccinated in order to keep her job “sick.”

I respect everyone’s decision, I really do, but to mandate it is sick and it’s scary to me in many ways. But I have a job, a job that I love and, frankly, a job that I need.

Considering the fact that she recently tested positive for COVID-19, I wonder if she is happy that she is vaccinated.

Or did Sage “test positive” the same way Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro “tested positive” during VP Harris’ visit to “The View?”

It’s the timing for me.

Anywho, ESPN released the following statement regarding Sage Steele.

At ESPN, we embrace different points of view — dialogue and discussion makes this place great.

That said, we expect that those points of view be expressed respectfully, in a manner consistent with our values, and in line with our internal policies.

We are having direct conversations with Sage, and those conversations will remain private.

Translation: She’s laying low until the dust settles.

Sage also issued the following apology through ESPN:

I know my recent comments created controversy for the company, and I apologize.

We are in the midst of an extremely challenging time that impacts all of us, and it’s more critical than ever that we communicate constructively and thoughtfully.

Now, you know I can’t let you go without a few tweets!
