NAACP 47th Annual Image Award Nominations
On Tuesday, the NAACP announced the nominees for the 47th annual Image Awards, which celebrate the accomplishments of people of color in TV, music, literature and film and honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors.
This year’s nominations are dominated by family as the Lyons lead the pack with 12 nominations for “Empire” and the Johnsons scored 11 nods for “Black-ish.”
Michael B. Jordan‘s Creed is a knockout with 6 nominations and N.W.A’s box office-smashing biopic, Straight Outta Compton, scoop 5 nods including Outstanding Motion Picture.
