UPDATE: 4 Minneapolis Police Officers Fired Following The Death Of George Floyd

Another day, another black life snatched by police officers. Another hashtag.

The FBI is investigating the death of a black man in Minneapolis, who was suffocated to death when a police officer knelt on his neck for over five minutes.

George Floyd, cried, begged, and pleaded for his life saying, “I cannot breathe! I cannot breathe! Don’t kill me,” as the officer continued to sit idly with his knee pinned against his neck.

Bystanders began to film and call for help to no avail.

When George Floyd lost consciousness an ambulance was called. George was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where he died a short time later.

The Minneapolis Police Department had the nerve to call Mr. Floyd’s death a “medical incident.”

The viral video clearly shows it was a homicide.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey expressed his outrage over the video saying:

Being black in America should not be a death sentence.

For five minutes, we watched as a white officer pressed his knee to the neck of a black man. For five minutes. When you hear someone calling for help, you are supposed to help.

This officer failed in the most basic human sense.

If you’re sad, I get it. If you’re angry, that makes complete sense. If you feel the need to protest, of course we want to make sure that people are able to express themselves.

George Floyd was a very close and dear friend of former NBA star Stephen Jackson Jr.

He took to social media to share his outrage and heartbreak.

He wrote:

I ain’t going back and forward with no body. Judges give the death penalty to people who take lives right. Why cops who take lives don’t get the death penalty.

I guess it’s cool to play God only when it’s benefiting this crooked system. U kill us for nothing u need to die too. Let your family feel the pain u caused with your hate. Rest Easy Twin I promise I ain’t letting this ride. The truth they don’t wanna hear.
