Some good actually came out of Quincy Jones‘ greasy interview with Vulture.

After the music icon stated Michael Jackson “stole” Donna Summer’s 1982 single “State of Independence” for “Billie Jean,” streams of her song skyrocketed within 48 hours!

According to Billboard, on February 7 and 8, “State of Independence” streams jumped 12,000% with 150,000 on-demand audio and video streams – all the way up from the 2,000 streams it received two days before.

It may be because people wanted to compare the two songs. However, there were folks like me who streamed for GP to pay homage in spite of the thievery.

Feel free to check out the songs below and let me know if you can hear any similarities.
