DMX’s ex-wife, Tashera Simmons, and his three eldest sons, Xavier Simmons, Sean Simmons and Tacoma Simmons, have been appointed as temporary co-administrators of his estate.

The legendary Hip Hop star, real name Earl Simmons, did not have a will when he died on April 9, 2021.

You may recall, in June, family members petitioned to become administrator of the late rapper’s estate.

DMX’s fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom, petitioned the court to be legally declared his “common-law wife.”

If approved, Desiree, who had been engaged to DMX since 2019 and is the mother of his 5-year-old son, Exodus Simmons, would have immediately seniority over all of his 14 children to potentially control his estate, as well as all future earnings from his music.

But, a judge denied her request.

A statement released on Monday, October 25, read:

DMX’s ex wife, Tashera Simmons [and his] oldest sons Xavier Simmons, Sean Simmons and Tacoma Simmons have been appointed temporary co-administrators of the estate of Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons pursuant to a decision of the Westchester county Surrogate’s Court today.

They will now exclusively manage the affairs of their late father’s estate.

Estate attorney Herb Nass will protect Earl “DMX” Simmons’ estate and assist the rapper’s co-administrator sons.

Entertainment attorney, Ron Sweeney of Ron Sweeney and Company, will be responsible for all industry-related matters pertaining to DMX.

The statement comes on the heels of a Georgia woman named Raven Barmer-Simmons, who claims to be the rapper’s 15 child.

Attorney Herb Nass said DNA tests will be done on all 15 people claiming to be DMX’s children in the coming weeks to prove paternity.

RIP DMX.
