Upstate New York officials on Thursday released the identities of the victims of the horrific quadruple homicide in Troy.
Shanta Myers, 36, and her 22-year-old partner Brandi Mells were found dead Tuesday, along with Myers’ children, Shanise and Jeremiah. Shanise was 5 and Jeremiah was 11.
They were bound and their throats were cut.
Little other information has come to light, Troy police chief James Tedesco said during a press conference Wednesday. He urged the public to come forward with any information regarding the deaths, which are now being investigated as a quadruple homicide.
“After being in this business for almost 42 years, I can’t describe the savagery of this,” he said. “I don’t have the word.”
Troy police on Tuesday responded to the 2nd Avenue home after fielding a call for several unresponsive people discovered in the basement apartment of the building. They said a property manager made the discovery early Tuesday afternoon in the city’s Lansingburgh section.
When they arrived just before 1 p.m., they found the bodies of four people, all confirmed dead on the scene.
Police have not commented on a possible motive in the case.
Who could be so heartless?!
