Derrick Rose and his attorney are calling his ex-girlfriend’s shocking lawsuit a “shake down.”
The NBA’s star alleged ex-girlfriend, identified as “Jane Doe,” filed a lawsuit claiming he and two friends drugged and gang-raped her in August 2013. She says she waited two years to come forward because she was embarrassed.
Rose’s attorney Lisa Cohen told TMZ Sports, Derrick and the woman were involved in a “non-exclusive, consensual sexual relationship for two years.” But, there were no issues or complaints until lawyers hyped her up to go after a huge payday. She says the lawsuit is “an attempt to shake down a highly respected and successful athlete.”
Cohen also stated this is the third attorney the alleged victim has hired to pursue this lawsuit against Derrick Rose.
Derrick Rose plans to vigorously fight the lawsuit to clear his name.
Lisa Cohen said, “We have complete confidence that the case will be dismissed and that Mr. Rose will be vindicated. This lawsuit is outrageous.”
