While the news of Dave returning as host of “SNL” is exciting…it isn’t shocking.

The legendary comedian previously hosted the long-running variety show in November 2016 following the devastating election results.

Dave ultimately won the 2017 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his post-election monologue.

Dave Chappelle returned as host in November 2020 for another legendary night.

This time, some folks are big mad about his hosting because of the remarks and jokes he’s made about the transgender community in his Netflix special, “The Closer.”

One person tweeted, “I love SNL. I’ve been a fan all my life. But having Dave Chappelle on as host is not the move. You have your first non-binary cast member ever and then you book a proud and open transphobe. What a disappointment.”

Someone else tweeted, “Having Dave Chappelle host SNL again is a slap in the face to trans people, including one of their own new cast members. What the hell Lorne?!”

Another person tweeted, “Wonder how SNL’s first nonbinary castmember this season must feel about them platforming Dave Chappelle next week. Disappointing but not surprising. Feeling for Molly Kearney right now.”

Not everyone is mad about Dave returning to “SNL” for his three-peat.

One fan wrote, “I thought Dave Chappelle made it clear that he wasn’t transphobic after his last special. Did he not? Because I’m confused on why people are mad that he’s hosting SNL next week, like it’s not about to be a lit ass episode!”
