Cyntoia married R&B singer Jaime Long, better known as J. Long, while she was incarcerated.
During an appearance on the “TODAY” show, the couple opened up about how they met and ultimately ended up as man and wife.
J. Long revealed he discovered Cynthoia on YouTube.
Well, I was minding my business and living my life and she had been on my YouTube screen for like three days and I didn’t pay attention to it.
I eventually pressed play and I felt it in my spirit to write her a letter and here we are now.
But, it just wasn’t any ole letter J. Long sent Cyntoia. He said the Lord told him to burn the edges of the letter before sending it.
Cyntoia Brown-Long admitted the burned edges of the letter caught her attention and she decided to write him back.
She added him being attractive also influenced her decision to write back.
J. Long went on to say after communicating with Cyntoia – he knew she was his wife and he was going to be her husband even if she remained behind bars.
