Creed Draws $42.6 Million At The Box Office
Creed didn’t knock out The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 or The Good Dinosaur at the box office, but it definitely went the distance with a $42.6 million opening weekend.
The Ryan Coogler film, which stars Michael B. Jordan as Apollo Creed’s son, Adonis, and Sylvester Stallone reprising his role as the legendary Rocky Balboa, snagged the tenth-biggest Thanksgiving debut of all time.
Even better, Creed is already seeing a profit from the $35 million it took to produce the film and there’s already whispers about a Best Supporting Actor nod for Sly.
Michael Ealy saw the film last night and took to his IG page to gush about it.
“COME ON CREED!” Last night I got to see the future. #ryancoogler and @michaelbjordan done did it again! Great performances in a well crafted heartfelt story!! Great movie! Dope soundtrack!
