Deshauna Barber Mourns Her Mother’s Passing
Miss USA 2016 Deshauna Barber is mourning the loss of her mother, Cordelia Barber, who passed away over the weekend.
In a heartfelt message on her Instagram page, Deshauna opened up about the moment she was crowned Miss USA and the real reason why her tears flowed.
She confessed, “The truth is, I was emotional because my mom was in her home fighting for her life and there was nothing I could do to help her.”
Miss USA ended her message by reminding everyone to reserve judgement and be kind to one another.
“Long story short, you never know what someone is going through so maybe we should lead our lives with kindness, it will get you much further than HATE,” she wrote.
