Common, DeVon Franklin, & Tony Krantz Partner To Produce ‘Cooley High’ Remake

A 40-year-old classic is getting a remake.

A Cooley High remake is on the way at MGM with Common, DeVon Franklin, and Tony Krantz at the helm.

The 1975 coming-of-age drama is set in 1960s Chicago and tell the story of group of high school friends with dreams of getting out of the South Side.

Glynn Turman, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, and Garrett Morris starred in the original film. There’s no word yet on who will star in the remake.
