Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) is being sued by rapper Kidd Wes, who claims Gambino ripped off his song, “Made In America.”

According to Kidd Wes, he created his track on SoundCloud in September 2016 and released it on YouTube a few months later.

He says he registered the song with the U.S. Copyright Office in May 2017, and he planned to use it as the lead single for his new album.

In 2018, Childish Gambino released “This Is America,” which became a huge hit and won a Grammy for Record of the Year.

In the legal documents, Kidd Wes claims the hook of “This Is America” is “unmistakably substantially similar, if not practically identical” to his “Made in America.”

He also claims Gambino’s flow is similar to his.

Kidd Wes is suing Gambino, the co-writers of “This Is America,” the record labels that put it out, Roc Nation, and Young Thug, who sings backup vocals on the track.
