Jussie Smollett beat those disorderly conduct charges like Rocky, but the City of Chicago says he still has a $130K tab to pay for the shenanigans.
The City of Chicago’s Law Department has billed the “Empire” actor $130,106.15 for the cost of the Chicago Police Department investigation that determined he was lying about being the victim of a hate crime in January.
The demand letter says Jussie has 7 days to make the payment or they may prosecute him for making false statements to the city.
“A violation of the false statement ordinance imposes a fine of not less than $500.00 and a maximum of $1,000.00, plus up to three times the amount of damages the City sustains as a result of the violation,” the letter states.
