Video Shows Kenneka Jenkins Walking Into Freezer Alone
A Chicago activist who viewed surveillance video from a Rosemont hotel says it does indeed show Kenneka Jenkins walking into the freezer alone.
Andrew Holmes claims the Rosemont Police Department showed him the video when he went to the station seeking answers on behalf of the family.
Holmes addressed the media after viewing the video to share his findings.
First, and foremost, I did view the video.
Some parts of the video I won’t get into not to hamper the investigation.
The important part that we were all wondering and wanted to know – did anybody pull her down there? Did anybody force her down there? Was there anybody on the other side of the room when she got down there? And the answer is no.
She [Kenneka Jenkins] walked into that unsecured area that should have been secured with locks on there so that she couldn’t get in there.
Now, I’ve been inside the freezer down there and upon looking at that freezer, you can open up that door, take a half step up, and pull the other door. This door would be closing anyway.
The other door – when she got in there probably closed on her too and it was dark in there.
Now, there is a knob that you can push to get out of there, but that investigation has to go on with the Rosemont Police Department and wait on the toxicology to see what’s going on with that.
But, as far as someone pulling her down there or meeting her down there…no.
