Most recently, a podcast clip is making headlines where appears to casually admit to raping his own wife the first time they had sex.

He said:

It’s a lot of things guys did especially when we were young that were rape that we just didn’t consider rape. I’m MARRIED to my wife. Me and my wife dated for a whole year, she would not give me no p—-.

Me and my wife hung out one Saturday night and she got sloppy drunk and passed out in my mama’s house and I got that p—-.

She was f—ing me back and all that but she was really drunk. I asked her yesterday, ‘Yo, did I rape you the first time we ever had sex?’ And she goes, ‘I mean in hindsight…yeah.’

Charlamagne took to his “Brilliant Idiots” podcast to issue a public apology for many of the things he’s said and done that were in very poor taste.

He went on to say many of the things that have been drudged up are not totally accurate (thanks to editing), but he does take responsibility for the reckless things has said.

To drive his point home and to set the record straight, Charlamagne’s wife joined “The Breakfast Club” by phone to shut down any notion that her husband raped her the first time they had sex.
