Another beautiful black life was taken and swept under the rug for months.

Breonna Taylor, a decorated Louisville EMT, and an aspiring nurse was fatally shot in her home on March 13 around 1 a.m. when Louisville Metro Police officers executed a warrant on the wrong home.

Breonna was only 26-years-old.

Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly, Offider Brett Hankinson, and Officer Myles Cosgrove entered Breonna’s home without knocking or announcing themselves.

Breonna’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, who is a licensed gun owner, heard someone entering the home and opened fire to protect his family.

Police fired more than 20 rounds of ammunition into the apartment striking Breonna eight times!

Kenneth managed to call Breonna’s mother, Tamika Palmer, and told her someone had broken into their home and he thinks they shot Breonna.

Breonna’s boyfriend, who was not injured during the incident, was arrested and faces charges of first-degree assault and attempted murder of a police officer.

However, two months later…NONE of the officers involved in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor have been charged or held accountable!

To add insult to injury, the man the police were looking for was already in custody!

Louisville Metro Police Department spokeswoman Jessie Halladay declined to comment on the case saying:

There is an ongoing public integrity investigation into this case and therefore it would be inappropriate for us to comment at this time.

The Taylor family has hired Attorney Benjamin Crump to represent them in their wrongful death lawsuit brought against the police department that accuses them of wrongful death, excessive force, and gross negligence.

Breonna’s mother, Tamika Palmer, said in an interview:

Not one person has talked to me. Not one person has explained anything to me.

I want justice for her. I want them to say her name. There’s no reason Breonna should be dead at all.

This case is still open and ongoing. I will keep you posted on any updates.
