Boyfriend Convicted In Stabbing Death Of E’Dena Hines, Morgan Freeman’s Step-Granddaughter & Alleged Lover
Lamar Davenport, the man who brutally stabbed Morgan Freeman’s step-granddaughter, E’Dena Hines, to death was convicted of manslaughter.
This story is so incredibly tragic on so many levels….
Lamar Davenport, the man who brutally stabbed Morgan Freeman‘s step-granddaughter, E’Dena Hines, to death on a Manhattan sidewalk, was convicted of manslaughter on Monday.
In August 2015, Davenport stabbed E’Dena 25 times in front of their apartment as neighbors and pedestrians watched in horror. Eye witnesses say he screamed, “I love you. I always loved you. God would have wanted this,” as he murdered her in cold blood.
Lamar, 33, was acquitted of second-degree murder because he was in a PCP-fueled haze and was not aware of what he was doing.
E’Dena was the granddaughter of Morgan Freeman‘s first wife and was raised by the legendary actor and his second wife.
For years, rumors swirled about a secret affair between them. It was something both Morgan and his step-granddaughter vehemently denied.
However, during Lamar’s three-week trial, both the prosecution and defense stated E’Dena had “disclosed to Lamar Davenport and others that her grandfather engaged in a sexually inappropriate relationship with her.”
After her death, Morgan Freeman released a statement saying, “Her star will continue to shine bright in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace.”
Lamar Davenport faces 25 years in prison. He’s scheduled to be sentenced on May 29.
