On the heels of cancelling “The Quad“ like Nino, BET announced they have greenlit a reboot of the 1992 classic film, “Boomerang.”
The 10-episode comedy series hailing from Paramount Pictures will be in the same vein as the film starring Eddie Murphy, Halle Berry, Robin Givens and a host of great talents.
Like the original, it revolves around a successful executive who finds that his lifestyle choices have turned back on him when his new boss turns out to be a bigger deviant that he is.
It is described as an updated version that explores contemporary workplace dynamics, including the changing role of gender, office politics, relationships and the conflicts between Generation X and millennials.
In addition to “Boomerang,” BET will also usher in “American Soul,” a 10-episode drama based on the life of Don Cornelius and “Peachtree Street” from Will Packer.
