Beyoncé Presents Colin Kaepernick With Muhammad Ali Legacy Award
Beyoncé surprised Colin Kaepernick by presenting him with the Muhammad Ali Legacy Award on Tuesday night at Sports Illustrated’s 2017 Sportsperson of the Year Show.
“Daily Show” host Trevor Noah set up the big surprise saying that he had, “a friend who admired Colin Kaepernick so much she asked me to sneak her in.”
When Bey took the stage (looking incredible), she praised Colin for his sacrifice and selfless heart.
Thank you, Colin Kaepernick.
Thank you for your selfless heart. And your conviction. Thank you for your personal sacrifice. Colin took action with no fear of consequences or repercussions, only hope to change the world for the better.
When Colin accepted his award he said, “I don’t know I could’ve asked for a better introduction.”
He went on to say:
I am using my platform to protest systematic oppression, racial injustice, and the dire consequences of anti-blackness in America.
America is not living up to what America professes to be.
In closing, Colin added, “I accept this award not for myself, but on behalf of the people. With or without the NFL’s platform, I will continue to work for the people.”

Congratulations to Colin on an honor well-deserved.
