A Baytown, Texas police officer who was attempting to arrest a black woman fatally shot her moments after she was heard yelling, “I’m pregnant!”

Video of the incident was floating around social media late Monday night after an eye witness recording the shooting and posted on Snapchat.

The altercation and shooting happened around 10:40 p.m. on Monday night when an officer recognized a woman he had encountered in the past.

He knew she had outstanding warrants and attempted to arrest her. That’s when everything went wrong.

Baytown Police Lt. Steve Dorris said a struggle started and the officer was forced to use his Taser. But as he was trying to detain the woman, she managed to get control of the Taser and used it on the officer, who then fired several shots, hitting the woman at least once.

The victim, identified by her family as 45-year-old Pamela Turner, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Turner’s sister, Antoinette, said the woman has two children, both in their 20s, and three grandchildren. Antoinette also said the officer was Turner’s neighbor and she had previously complained about the officer harassing her.

Turner was on medication for schizophrenia, Antoinette said.

Witnesses said they heard Turner shout that she was pregnant. However, family members were not able to confirm that statement and police will not be able to confirm the claim until an autopsy is done.

According to authorities, the officer is an 11-year veteran and has been placed on administrative leave.

If this officer lived nearby or has had previous contact with Pamela – he knew she had mental health issues!

He did not have to kill her!
